Information About Tariffs

📦 U.S. Shipping & Tariff Info

We’re so happy you’ve found something you love from our little boutique in Canada!

Just a heads up if you’re shipping to the U.S.:
You may be charged import duties or tariffs when your order arrives. These are collected by U.S. Customs and are entirely out of our hands — we don’t control them, and we don’t receive any of the fees.

What You Need to Know:

- As of August 1, 2025, the U.S. government has introduced a 35% tariff on most Canadian goods — and yes, that includes clothing.

- This means you may be asked to pay 35% of your order value in duties when your package crosses the border.

- The fee is charged by U.S. Customs, not Bib & Tucker.

- These tariffs apply regardless of how small or large your order is.

💳 Who Pays It?

You, the customer. Import fees are collected by the courier (usually USPS, UPS, FedEx, or DHL) before delivery. They’ll typically contact you with payment instructions once your package enters the U.S.

🕒 Timing

Orders placed before July 20 have the best chance of clearing the border before August 1, which may help you avoid the new tariff. But we can't guarantee border processing times.

💡 Tips

- If you're shipping a gift to someone in the U.S., make sure they're aware a duty may apply!

- If you're not sure whether it's worth it, send us a message. We’re happy to help you figure it out.

P.S. We wish we could bundle your order with a coffee and a passport stamp, but international shipping is tricky business. Thanks for understanding — and for supporting a small Canadian boutique. 💛
